Meet Cassandra Hesse, LCSW-S, NATC, CST
I’m a sex-positive Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Board Approved Supervisor, Certified Narcissistic Abuse Treatment Clinician, and AASECT Certified Sex Therapist.
I’m passionate about supporting individuals and couples as they work through concerns involving intimacy, relationships, and sexual well-being. I welcome clients from all cultural backgrounds and across the spectrum of gender, sexual orientation, and relationship diversity.
My academic journey began with a degree in Sociology, where I explored human behavior, social dynamics, and cultural patterns. After earning my undergraduate degree in 2011, I began working at a psychiatric hospital with children and adolescents—an experience that inspired me to pursue my Master of Social Work (MSW) with a clinical mental health focus at the University of Texas at Arlington.
Based in Greater Austin with an office in Round Rock, Texas. I also offer virtual therapy, making sex-positive support accessible to clients across Texas.
In my work with couples, I utilize the Developmental Model of Couples Therapy, an approach designed to help partners navigate the natural growth phases of a relationship. This method acknowledges that couples evolve over time and face different challenges at each stage. This model draws on Attachment Theory, Differentiation Theory, and Neuroscience. I also incorporate Sensate Focus Therapy, a valuable experiential approach that helps partners reconnect with physical intimacy through guided exercises and at-home practices.
For individual clients, I utilize the Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapeutic method, which is a compassionate approach to therapy that helps individuals understand and heal from within. IFS views the mind as having multiple "parts," each with its own perspectives and purposes. Some parts may protect you, while others hold pain or trauma. I also incorporate aspects of the Developmental Model of Couples Therapy, which helps me approach my individual clients with a relational lens as well; whether you’re struggling with an intimate partner, family member, friend, or colleague.
I am honored to have trained under Dr. Ramani Durvasula and earned my certification as a Narcissistic Abuse Treatment Clinician. This advanced, specialized training has equipped me with the guidance and tools needed to effectively support clients who are experiencing or recovering from abusive and narcissistic relationships. I understand how difficult these relationships can be, and I am committed to supporting you through your healing journey.
